Hjalti Geir holds a master's degree in law from the University of Iceland and an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School in New York City.At LEX he primarily focuses on issues related to public administration, energy, environment and natural resources.

Hjalti Geir has extensive experience in counseling and dispute resolution in the field of property law, energy, natural resources and environmental law and has dealt with cases related to infrastructure development, energy production and natural resource utilization. Hjalti Geir also has comprehensive knowledge of the legal fields of public law, such as administrative law, European law, constitutional law, human rights regulations, and he provides a wide range of advice and advocacy in those fields for private parties, governmetnal agencies and municipalities. Hjalti Geir also has experience in the media, as he worked as a journalist while studying law.
