Eva Margrét Ævarsdóttir

Throughout her career, Eva has advised on numerous infrastructure and financing projects — including sustainable and green financing — for both domestic and international clients. Her work spans the full spectrum of the Icelandic energy sector, where she has acted for key participants including energy producers, transmission system operators, power intensive industrial users, and investors in renewable energy assets. This experience gives her a distinctive understanding of the regulatory, contractual and commercial frameworks that govern Iceland's electricity market, including long-term power purchase agreements, transmission arrangements, and the application of EEA state aid rules to energy transactions.

With a strong foundation in both Icelandic and EU/EEA legal frameworks, Eva provides strategic legal advice to clients across the finance, energy and natural resources sectors. She is known for her thorough and practical approach to legal problem-solving — combining rigorous legal analysis with hands-on insight into the complexities of cross-border transactions and regulatory matters.

Eva also leads LEX's advisory practice in sustainability and ESG, drawing on her extensive experience as a legal adviser and her deep knowledge of the evolving international and domestic sustainability landscape. She advises clients on ESG compliance, sustainable finance frameworks, and the integration of sustainability considerations into corporate governance and business strategy.
