Þórhallur Bergmann
Þórhallur Bergmann is a lawyer licensed to practice before the District Court. He joined LEX in 2006 and has worked continuously with the firm since then. At LEX, Þórhallur has primarily focused on insolvency law and he oversees the firm’s practice in this field.
Þórhallur’s work has mainly involved acting as a trustee in bankruptcy estates and handling financial restructuring, as well as representing creditors, bankruptcy estates, and parties affected by clawback claims. Additionally, he provides legal counsel in this field, including to financial institutions, foreign legal entities, and bankruptcy trustees. He also has specialized expertise in real estate law and contractor law.
Þórhallur is an adjunct lecturer at the law department at Reykjavík University, where he has taught insolvency law since 2015. He has also been involved in teaching and examining bankruptcy administration as part of the training course for district court litigation rights and has conducted courses on insolvency law for the Icelandic Bar Association (LMFÍ).
